Synopsis
On Chinese New Year’s Eve, young Yang Lan eagerly awaits her singer mother’s return amid raucous family celebrations. As mahjong, fireworks, and laughter fill the air, she searches for a fleeting moment of love.
The tail end of that year is also the tail end of childhood, still swaying as it turns and walks away.
02 · In their words
“I found it beautifully made and very moving. It’s visually and aurally rich. “Tail End of the Year” demonstrates Yang’s talent as a writer, director, and master of eliciting performance.”
